Financial

Sunrise Pediatric Dentistry is a boutique patient-centered practice, not an insurance-driven one.

Dr. Sheila Nguyen has found that when she personally spends more than a few minutes with every family at every dental appointment, children and parents are more motivated to care about oral health and follow recommendations that will better oral and whole body health.

In order to provide such one-on-one time and the high quality care that each child deserves, Dr. Sheila Nguyen is not contracted with any dental plans.  This empowers her to:

  • Have time to connect and build a relationship with each child and family,

  • Focus on education and improvement of oral health habits that ultimately affect whole body health,

  • Provide more relaxed and enjoyable experiences, and

  • Invest in not only top-notch team members, but also the latest in patient care services and premium dental supplies/materials.  (P.S. Dr. Sheila Nguyen really cares about ingredients.)

Sunrise Pediatric Dentistry is committed to providing personalized care for your child while assisting you to maximize your dental plan benefits.

We can work with any dental plan that has out-of-network benefits, commonly known as a Preferred Provider Option (PPO) plan.

PPO plans give you the freedom to choose your pediatric dentist!

Your dental plan is an agreement between you and your dental plan carrier, and we want to help make the process of maximizing your dental benefits easy in a way that will also keep our fees lower than average.

With this in mind, Sunrise Pediatric Dentistry will be happy to look into the specifics of how your dental plan works at our practice and submit any pre-estimates you would like.

Sunrise Pediatric Dentistry will submit all claims on your behalf to your dental plan.

Once processed, your dental plan carrier will mail you a reimbursement check.

After every visit, Sunrise Pediatric Dentistry will also be happy to immediately submit a claim to your dental plan on your behalf.

  • Once processed, your dental plan carrier will then mail you a reimbursement check.

    • The reimbursement amount varies among the various different dental plans.

    • Deductibles, coverage percentages, frequency limitations, and the allowable fee set by your employer will determine the reimbursement amount.

    • Some dental plans behave as if we are in network -- We are seeing this with Aetna, BlueShield, Cigna, Guardian, Metlife and some Delta Dental plans where they allow 100% of our fee schedule.

If you would like a good estimate of the reimbursement amount, let us know and we will submit a predetermination of your child’s proposed treatment to your dental plan in advance.

Families have 2 options at the time of their visit:

1)  Pay in full at the time of service (preferred) or

2)  Securely store a credit card to be charged 30 days after the appointment, by which time most families have received their reimbursement check in the mail.

If these options are not feasible and you have a PPO plan, reach out to us; we may be able to make an exception and pre-arrange an alternative payment option.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.  We want you to fully understand and therefore support our financial policy and are happy to help however way we can.

Thank you!

We appreciate your trust in Sunrise Pediatric Dentistry and look forward to seeing your child grow up with excellent oral and whole body health in the years to come.

Patient Testimonials

“Our son saw Dr Sheila for a cavity filling today. Our son is autistic and has ADHD as well as high anxiety. She did a great job keeping him calm and telling him everything to expect. The assistant also helped alleviate his fears. They worked diligently to ensure comfort and to make sure he knew everything.”
