PREVENTIVE DENTAL SERVICES

EXAMINATION
"Count teeth"

Much more than a look at the teeth to check for cavities.
Our comprehensive examinations also include airway evaluation, space analysis, and everything in between. Furthermore, we provide brushing and flossing instructions, dietary guidance, and advice on how to prevent cavities.

PROPHYLAXIS
"Cleaning"

All plaque and any tarter will be removed and shown to the child and/or guardian to help inspire good oral health habits at home.

FLUORIDE
"Minerals" or "Vitamins"

Natural occurring mineral applied to the teeth to help strengthen the enamel and thus prevent cavities.

RADIOGRAPHS
"Pictures"

Digital imaging to help detect early or existing cavities, gum disease, developmental abnormalities, and pathology.

SEALANT
"Protective Coating"

Protective resin placed in the pits and groves of permanent molars/incisors to help prevent cavities.

RESTORATIVE SERVICES

COMPOSITE
"White Paint"

Removal of decay and filling with composite resin.

PULPOTOMY
"Baby Root Canal"

Removal of a portion of the nerve (the pulp) due to deep decay in the tooth.

A dressing material is placed to help the tooth heal and a crown will be placed to protect the tooth.
*The tooth may require additional treatment if pulp treatment fails*

PULPECTOMY
"Baby Root Canal"

Complete removal of non-vital pulp tissue from the root canal.
A crown is placed over the restored area to protect the tooth.
*The tooth may require additional treatment if pulp treatment fails*

CROWNS – STAINLESS STEEL / ZIRCONIA / RESIN BASE
"Princess Crown" or "Transformer Crown"

When a tooth has weakened to the point that of being unable to sustain the same amount of force as other teeth, a crown is recommended. Placing a crown increases the durability and lifespan of the weakened tooth and restores the functionality of it as well.

EXTRACTIONS
"Wiggle"

Removal of a tooth due to infection, orthodontic reasons, or crowding.

*The extraction site may require a space maintainer after the tooth has been removed*

SPACE MAINTAINER
"Parking Spot Keeper"

A space maintainer keeps the natural space intended for a permanent tooth by preventing adjacent teeth from “drifting” together and forcing permanent teeth to erupt in a crowded condition.

Patient Testimonials

“Our son saw Dr Sheila for a cavity filling today. Our son is autistic and has ADHD as well as high anxiety. She did a great job keeping him calm and telling him everything to expect. The assistant also helped alleviate his fears. They worked diligently to ensure comfort and to make sure he knew everything.”
